We want those who want to help the community. We hope that you are inspired to volunteer more than the required once-a-month. All hours dedicated to the council count as community service hours.
We welcome volunteers of all ages, strengths, faiths, backgrounds, and cultures. Hence, we expect there to be healthy discussion about Garden ventures from many different perspectives.
The Board holds real responsibility and decision making power for MGKC. We require intentional, proactive, and creative leaders to stay organized and productive.
MGKC would not be where it is today without crazy goals and even crazier volunteers that make it work. We want members with creativity, tenacity, and dedication to help brainstorm and execute the Garden's mission.
What we look for
The Mitzvah Garden KC thrives on open-mindedness, teamwork, kindness, and commitment and hope that all council members foster a positive attitude. The MGKC Youth Council was created to include young voices in the future of the garden. Roles of council members will include maintaining our website, social media, harvest records, and planning the annual fundraiser. Once-a-month meetings and garden workdays are mandatory. Independent work outside of these meetings is expected. Have questions?
